Comrades of the Coalition,
I hereby present the awaited interview of Comrade Dilber, as directly quoted.
Greetings and thanks for giving us this interview, Dilber. You've become quite a figure in NationStates since your last interview with the VOTP. A certain panel within the Meritocracy ranked you as the third most powerful man in NationStates, what do you make of it? Would you deem it's accurate? Any comments?”
Why hello there. It’s a pleasure for me to do this. I honestly apologize for the delay on this, however, I had some real life stuff come up, which came before this.
::chuckles:: It all depends on what list you use. I made number 3 on one list, and I didn’t even make the top ten in another. It felt good being considered “powerful”, as yes, I do have an ego. However, it’s not something I need in order to feel good about myself. I know the job I’ve done, and that is probably the most important thing to me. However, anytime I can come up in a top 10 list, I wouldn’t say no to being on it
"As you know, ZetaOne, former delegate of The West Pacific went "rogue" and ejected several nations from your region with no apparent reason. He claims this was nothing but a "test" to assess the capacity of The West Pacific to respond to such a situation. You requested help from the RLA and TPC amongst other regions who installed the regent as Delegate of The West Pacific - how well do you think The West Pacific and it's allies "scored" during this test?"
I honestly think we did incredibly well. However, we did get incredibly lucky. Had Zeta really decided to gone rogue, he would have kicked Minineenee. I think eventually we would have been able to get him out, however, it would not have been as bloodlessly as we did. However, the thing I was most pleased about was the response that we received. We received over 140 nations in a period of around…6 hours? I think the government responded as it should, and it showed that we do have a lot of friends in the community. I really do wish to thank everyone, as without you we could never have managed to pull this off.
"The Red Liberty Alliance and The West Pacific have been on good terms and cooperated on several occasions, essentially through the treaty between the Allied States of EuroIslanders and The West Pacific. The RLA has been brandished by some elements within the ADN leadership to be "politically motivated" - which has been used as an insult. What is your opinion on the RLA and these accusations?"
In all honesty, every organization has it’s own “politically motivated” individuals. However, as a whole I would probably not brandish the RLA with this. I have quite good relations with a lot of the RLA, and I have worked with them on defenses and liberations, and I will continue to do so.
"The RLA and the ADN have undertaken several succesful missions in the past through the New Athens Accord who were rescinded by the Central Soviet as a result of the actions taken by Unistrut against the RLA Intelligence departement. There is no doubt a blow to defender unity has been dealt, especially in light of the severing of the EAA - ADN alliance, with the EAA being one of the staunchest defender organisation in NationStates. Do you think the time is ripe for a reconciliation? Do you think a reconciliation is possible, knowing the disputes which have plagued this sphere of the defending world?"
As much as I wish to say that this is the time for reconciliation, I doubt that it can occur this soon, at least on official levels. There is currently far to much mudslinging, on both sides, for it to occur at this time. I do believe that at some point reconciliation will be possible. I know I have been working with the RLA recently on liberations and defenses, and I will continue to do so. We all ultimately have the goal of defending the weak, which is something that we should always do.
"Dilber, you've been re-elected as Prime Minister of The West Pacific for three times in a row, quite an achievement which is a testimony to the absolute trust vested in you by the nations of The West Pacific. Congratulations! What do you make of this and what are your main objectives in the domain of Foreign Policy?"
::chuckles again:: Either that, or people think my Sax playing is damn good. I’d actually like to thank the people in TWP for re-electing me. I think I’ve done a good job, and I really do thank them for trusting me for another three months. This is actually going to be my final term, at least for now. I decided that while it’s been fun, and highly rewarding to have led a feeder for 9 months, it’ll be time to let someone else take the reigns. I’ve had a good run in it, and I hope the rest of my term goes great. I’m actually planning on continuing my policies in Foreign Affairs. I’ve let MO run the department, and she’s done an amazing job on it. However, there are certain things that I look forward to doing. Blackbird asked recently about an alliance between the RLA and TWP, and so far the response has been unanimous in the council. I hope that during my term this alliance gets written up, and passed by both sides.
"An event which has been marked as well is your recent success in the elections of the Alliance Defence Network where you've been elected as Deputy Director of the ADN, ousting Unistrut from that position - a man despised by many within the RLA and The Proletariat Coalition. Do you have any comments on this? Would you, as some critics estimate, that the loss of Unistrut in the elections come as a direct consequence of the actions taken by Unistrut against the RLAI which led to the exposure of Grippsholm/The Red Factions? Any comments you would like to share with us?"
First off, I’d like to state that I think that this is a bit unfair to Uni. I honestly believe that he did a good job as the Deputy Director. It is possible that the loss of Unistrut came as a consequence of those actions. It was an issue that did split the ADN, however, I think that most of those wounds healed fairly quickly. I’m just hoping my term goes well.
"Dilber, The West Pacific, under your leadership, has taken several steps to improve it's relations with the regime, considered illegetimate by The Proletariat Coalition, in the Pacific known as The People's Republic of The Pacific/New Pacific Order. Relations between the ADN and the PRP have always been tense - do you think your election to the position of Deputy Director of the ADN will bring any change to this?"
This is something I wouldn’t have control over. Each member region of the ADN has it’s own foreign policy. We don’t control it. I hope that as a whole tensions between the ADN and the PRP drop, but it’s not something I can predict at this time.
"The People's Assembly of The Proletariat Coalition is currently debating the merits on wether to recognise the PRP or not, as part of the delegacy elections where Star City is running against the incumbent, Soviet Sexy Girls. Allies of The Proletariat Coalition such as Equilism, Juxtaposition X or the Allied States of EuroIslanders have been invited to present their stance on the issue and are doing so as we speak. What would be your personal advice and opinion, as Prime Minister of The West Pacific?"
I personally would recognize the PRP. They have had a lot of democratic reforms, and they have been there for a long time. It appears to be more then just a name change, and as such, I believe it’s time we came to recognize them.
"Drunken Conquerors from the Rejected Realms has been active and lobbying for support in The Proletariat Coalition's Committee for the Defence in his campaign against Kandarin's regime. What is your personal opinion on this nation? Do you think it is within the remit of the ADN to intervene in this matter? As Deputy Director of the ADN, would you endorse a military intervention aimed at shoring up the delegacy of Kandarin would Drunken Conquerors ascend to the delegacy solely through the use of endorsement-whoring, in the same spirit Kandarin rose to power? Any comments or message you'd like to forward to Drunken Conquerors?"
Personally, I support Kandarin, as does the government of the West Pacific. The RR has come to us in our time of need, and we have been close to them for a long time. As for the second question, I do believe the ADN should respond when Kandarin asks us to. For the record, he has not asked for help yet, and none has been given yet. Considering who Darius is(Dar es Saalam, Twin of Hearts, among other names), I’m honestly not sure he has the best thoughts of the RR at heart. Considering most of the members of his party are not long term RR members, and the RR members seem to be pretty content with Kandarin, I do believe this is something we should intervene in. Should Kandarin ask us for assistance, yes, I would endorse a military intervention in this. It’s entirely possible for an invader to swap his way into the delegacy(If I remember correctly, this occurred with Taxachussets), and seeing as he I would consider him an invader, I would support an intervention. I’d like to ask DC to stop this, and if he wants to truly help the RR to work within the system.
"The situation in The North Pacific is, needless to say, confusing. Accusations that Stars of Sky, newly installed and ADN-backed Delegate of The North Pacific would in fact be SWATH, ADN Agent and head of the Nasicournian Intelligence Agency. Discussions on wether a life-time appointed delegate should be installed are held and being voted on by rather unknowng nations for the most part. What do you, as Deputy Director of the ADN, have to say in defence of these accusations?"
As Deputy Director, I would like to state straight out that SoS is not SWATH, and is not an ADN agent. I personally would support Bella, and I have found her to be an incredibly nice individual, and has the ability to run TNP during their attempts to work themselves out. Furthermore, she recently posted that she will NOT be running for delegate after the constitution is created, and as such is there merely for the interim period. As for the unknown nations, I’ve had a long term puppet in TNP. It isn’t a known puppet, and I’ve had it there since last July with Great Bight because frankly, at the time I considered TNP a second home. I received an invite from Bella to join the convention, and I believe that is where a lot of these nations came from. From what I can tell, she Tged most, if not all of TNP asking for them to join the convention. As such, I can honestly say I would support SoS, but she is not an ADN agent.
