INTERVIEW WITH PRIME MINISTER DILBER
Comrades of the Coalition --
Democracy is Strength they say, as do we here at The Proletariat Coalition. The West Pacific, with it's unique form of government allowing amongst other things separation of powers and a true democratic goverment, is an example for all to follow. It is the opinion of many that The West Pacific is perhaps, one of the finest examples of NationStates Democracy and they can sure be proud of it.
This interview was carried out a few days ago, just before The Prime Minister elections. Comrades, I give you Comrade Dilber, new Prime Minister of The West Pacific and leader of the West Pacific government!
What are your positions in The West Pacific [TWP]?
That [Ambassador to The Proletariat Coalition] is one of my positions. I am currently the Foreign Minister of the West Pacific, along with a Major General in our Liberation Force. I am also currently up for Prime Minister of our region as well, with the vote closing tomorrow at midnight GMT.
Do you expect to win the election race? [Note: Dilber won.
The current tally is 10 for me, 6 for Minineenee, and 1 for Gosstopia.
Please explainwhat binds TPC and TWP
Technically I believe that it would be considered diplomatic, however we are both members of ADN and are pledged to each other. On a more personal level, I have become quite good friends with Blackbird, and should TPC ever need help, The West Pacific would defiantly respond. Blackbird has helped our region out quite a bit, and I am glad to consider him a friend.
How has TWP responded to the new Alliance Defense Network [AND] Charter?
Our council did not pass the articles of alliance, however we will abide by them. I personally believe that the leadership of the ADN are good people, and deserve our trust. A lot of our council had been worried about sovereignty issues, but in my mind this was put to rest when Pope Hope spoke before our council. The ADN issue did come up during the Prime Minister debates, so I believe that it will still be an issue.
How are relations with the People’s Republic of the Pacific [PRP, The Pacific]?
Relations with the PRP have actually gone quite well. We are definatly pleased on how things have gone so far, and I believe this treaty will pass again when the grandfather clause comes up. As stated in the treaty, we do recognize the People's Republic of the Pacific as the legal government of the Pacific. As the NationStates world turns, I believe it will bring a new day for peace in the Pacifics, and I truly believe this day is coming. When Savage Lands Reloaded attempted to take over the South Pacific recently, all the Pacifics worked together to stop him. The grandfather clause was placed into treaty so that after a certain period of time we would be able to re-evaluate how the Non-Aggression Pact is working, and it would allow us to not renew it. The time period set in this treaty is three months. I do believe it will be passed again.
Will the treaty between TWP and the PRP affect the relationship between TWP and the ADN as the ADN lists the PRP as an enemy?
Well, recently the PRP went into Germany on the request of their allies to help in the transition from founder control to delegate control. However, even before they moved, they notified us as required in the treaty. I do not believe it will cause a problem between either us and the PRP nor us as and ADN.
There are rumors circulating about a potential ADN intervention into the PRP. How would TWP respond if the ADN did indeed authorize such an action?
TWP will not move into the Pacific. We will honor our treaty with the PRP. However, I do not believe the rumors that the ADN is actively attempting a coup in the PRP. However, we shall see.
Can you please tell us a little bit about your NationStates [NS] history?
Sure thing. My nation was created in May 2004 near the end of the month. I was born and raised in TWP. After the end of the Norion reign, the new delegate Berhampore invited me to the regional forums, and I started to become active there. I joined the Regional Guard and the Liberation Force. After I got active in the region, the crisis in the North Pacific occurred. I was not really active there until the end of UPS_Rail, and the beginning of Great Bight. Once that occurred, I had moved into TNP under orders of our defense minister. I [private messaged] the military leadership of TNP, and I asked what I could do to help. They immediately snatched me up and I began coordinating TWP forces in The North Pacific. I eventually became the official liaison between the West Pacific and the Government-in-exile, and from there on in I became the official ambassador to them. I was also an un-official member of the [Government-in-exile]. I pulled multiple all-nighters in the beginning of the campaign. During one of the breaks in the fighting, I was recalled to TWP to get the required 50 [endorsements] to join the council. After I did this, I was nominated to become Foreign Minister, after the work I did in TNP. It's been great since then. After TNP was finally freed, I was made a Brigadier General in charge of our alpha division. I stayed in that rank for a while. During that time, in my capacity as Foreign Affairs Minister I opened numerous embassies, along with two very important treaties. These treaties were the United Democratic Pacifics and the PRP-TWP Non-Aggression Pact. Recently, a new threat reared its head in The South Pacific. Savage Lands Reloaded attempted to take over the delegacy of the South Pacific, and I was one of the people that helped stop it. I was promoted to Major General after that, and we're up to today with me running for Prime Minister.
What about real life?
In real Life, I am a 17-year-old High school senior living in Florida. I have been accepted to three colleges so far, and I am waiting on my early decision application to Gettysburg. I plan to major either in Computer Science or Political Science with a minor in Music. I play Baritone Sax in the official Jazz band of Make-a-Wish international, and American airlines. I am also First Chair Clarinet for the concert band of the same groups. I play hacky-sack, and I love to game on my computer. My favorite computer game is Homeworld.
