7)How do you respond to critics who say that the new proposed articles of alliance give the director far too much power and create a legislative council with little stocked with the same elite leaders who got us in this mess in the first place?
First, I tell you that this Charter was written and revised by members from a majority of ADN regions. I will also tell you that it is still open to review and revision.
As for the Director powers, I personally don't foresee any exercising of the powers a few people have complained about. The purpose was to make the Director position hard to remove, thus ending the political squabbling and backstabbing that has plagued our organization up to this move. And like I said before, it's up for revision. To be honest, I myself was dubious at first, but I now have no problem with most of the Charter as it currently stands. I know myself, and I know this alliance.
I do find a problem with any assertion that the Council is stacked in any way. Most of the Council members are the elected or appointed Senators from the previous government structure, and I'm willing to bet that their regions elect or appoint them again once the positions are turned over to the regions to decide. I do not think it's singularly their fault that we landed where we were before this move.
8)How come The Director has a veto and can practically very easily go against the will of the Council and therefore the Member region’s?
The Director's veto can be overridden by a 2/3 vote of the sitting Council, so that question is spurious.
9)Would you be willing to revoke section IIA6a. which makes the director a lifetime appointment unless removed by a two thirds council majority?
First of all, it's not my place to revoke anything. It's all in the hands of the Council now. The Director is not allowed to be on the Council, so my voice counts as much as anyone in my region when it comes to that clause.
I personally do not want to see that clause go. All of our military personnel around here that truly devote their time and energy to defending believe that the Director should be a lifetime position, and I after hours of discussion, I do agree with them. It removes a lot of devious political maneuvering, which any honest member of the ADN will tell you had become a huge problem here.
10)Pope Hope, whom will you appoint as your Cabinet, if you appoint any?
Oh my. lol I will have to think about that when and if the time comes. I will tell you this: it's not a mystery to me who the most active members of this alliance are. I know what their strengths are, and I want to utilize the talents of anyone who wishes to get heavily active in the ADN. We're here to work together, not to vie for a spot on a Cabinet. Normal members of the ADN designed the structure you're seeing now, and I was one of them.
11)Do you fear that this action may provoke some regions to leave the alliance especially those like us in the Coalition who already have their own defensive networks in place?
Well, we've already seen that with the ASE and Greece. It does sadden me, but I believe strongly in the importance of regional sovereignty. They have made their decision, and it is done. I'm not going to waste time fretting about it, because I know we are still friends and will continue to work together to accomplish our main goal: defending.
As for TPC, I would be incredibly disappointed if your region left, but my above statements stand. I think your members add opinions and viewpoints to this alliance that are needed, and different from anything we saw before you came here. I certainly hope you stay, as I've also personally grown quite fond of many of your members, and think your leaders are quite admirable and have the potential to be very active here.
12)What are the goals you wish to accomplish by these drastic measures and most importantly when do you expect results?
I expect results as soon as the rest of the Council members check in and present the Charter to their regions for discussion.
The goals I wish to accomplish? Improve military conditioning, which has already been happening within only a few short days. Crazy_Girl has done an excellent job, and the addition of a private ADN chat room allowed us to get nine troopers into a region in twenty minutes (among other things). Improve alliance unity, and defender unity in the process. Add regions to the alliance that have wanted to join for quite some time. We have been talking with several active regions about applying for membership when the new Charter is in place. Overall, shift back to focusing solely on defensive operations and the intelligence that fuels these missions, and leave the mess of bureaucracy behind us. Now is the time of ADN unity.
13)Do you see this as a make or break situation from which the Alliance Defense Network may either rise or crumble?
No, I don't. I believe that the regions that stay through the transition will be the regions that really have their hearts in defending and do not care about politics within the alliance. Those who try to force change and fail, leaving as a result, will stay our friends and partners in the fight against invaders. Those who work with others to find common ground for change will stay and have made the ADN stronger for it. Our friends who stay will join with the new regions about to join us, and we will rise to a height unprecedented in ADN history. I strongly believe this to be true.
14)If this adventure fails and the ADN crumbles what do you plan on doing?
lol The ADN is not going to crumble, but if I ever left it, I have plenty of activities going on besides the ADN. I love my region immensely, and we have our own military, called NasiCorps. My passion is in defending, and my loyalties are to defenders and my region mates...from a few different regions .
15)Would you like to add anything, comment the situation or make known some of your future projects?
I will continue working with everyone here as my peers and equals to help improve the Alliance Defense Network and everything we stand for. I'll be working on projects in my regions, and intelligence operations of my own. The future is looking bright for today's Hopians. It's a good era to be playing NS.
I believe that the ADN is headed into another era of prosperity. While getting back to our roots and cutting away unnecessary bureaucracy, we have paved the way for a successful increase in defense success...which is, after all, why we are all united here under the banner of the ADN.
Thank you for your honor in waiting for this interview, and I am truly glad to be able to give it to a regional ally and friend. Feel free to contact me any time with any follow-up questions, comments, or concerns.
In friendship and unity,
