Why do they all start with "F"?

Ahhh, that's it, thanx !
About the F thing, they all start with F because these are NATO codenames. F is the designative for Fighters, as B is for bombers, and so on...

The MiG-31 is an evolution of the MiG-25. It's a real interceptor, on of the most powerfull one of the world. Still in use in russian army.
It can reach 3000km/h, and carry 8 "Amos", 2 "Acrid" and 4 "Aphid" (russian's phoenix missile).

Yeah...I knew that too. But I still think that the 25 is more impressive. I looks pleasently more 'vintage', besides being faster. But the problem with these machines is that they are useless at dogfighting, thus beeing a specific tool on a war plan. Do you have the "Lock on" game ? It has them all !!!

Hey - I've thought of something that can let me join in this conversation! What do you aero-enthusiasts think of the Eurofighter?

I don't have Lock On but I should bee a cool game ! Eurofigther ? The plane it-self has a nice design I think but the plane has a major flaw, it was designed as a full interceptor rather than a multi-role aircraft (like the Grippen, the Rafale or the F-35)... And loads of money was wasted in changing it to a more polyvalent plane. But for what I've seen it's on a good way, so that plane could have a nice future life !
